Art Deco (1920-1940)

This was a time of great transition. Jewelry was made primarily in platinum and some gold. Strong geometric shapes, diamonds cut in many different shapes and set in bracelets, rings, brooches and necklaces were popular. There was a great use of gemstones as both central elements and in the details of the pieces. Whimsical abstracted designs of plants, architecture and figures decorated bracelets, brooches, earrings and rings.
